Galaxy quest:
I just returned from yet another business trip to glorious San Jose. It wasn't even San Jose, Costa Rica, like it could've been. It was just San Jose, California. Why is it that every time I come back from a vacation I want to go on another one? Since I'm having an unbearable urge to travel again, I'm going to indulge myself and go to an unnamed seaside location on Monday, when everyone else is driving back home from their Memorial Day weekend holiday. To that end, I purchased yet another digital camera, which you can see displayed at left. The Leica is lovely, don't get me wrong, but there are two reasons I needed this interim camera before I get a newer DSLR. The Leica is huge, and the new one is about 1/5 of the size of the Leica; and this past weekend while I was shooting some, er, intimate moments between a couple of my friends, I noticed that the level of noise the Leica produces in low-light situations is pretty unacceptable to me. It's kind of a cool effect - looks like grainy film - but unless I'm actually using film and am attempting to create this effect, I want everything to look crisp. This can be remedied with an off-camera flash and/or shooting all further intimate encounters in a properly lit studio, but I want something that can handle spontaneous bathroom sex as well as my hot friends can.
I'll be coming back from my day of drinking wine on the beach and lounging with good friends on Tuesday. Then I'll spend a little time with my daughter, and afterwards I'll go to the Dodgers-Cubs game with my friends. Then I'll be working on a new project where I'll be actually fucking putting my photography portfolio online! Shocking, I know. I'll be sure to let you bastards know as soon as it's up and running.
