Sugar sweet sunshine:

I have been awash in a sea of consumerism the last couple of days. Thursday night, I went to Munky King's website and bought three prints, despite the fact that their store is less than 2 miles from my apartment. Yesterday, I went up to Pasadena twice, acquiring some makeup, a purse, three tops, some comic books, some paint and other art supplies, and two pillows. (I also managed to get out of Target without spending $200 or more, which is a rare occurrence.) Then, I went online and purchased another cute as fuck sweater, more art supplies, a necklace, and some sound isolating earphones. You might think that $139 is a lot to pay for earphones, but when you fly 150,000 miles a year and the last 10 transcontinental flights you have been on have included screaming toddlers within a 4 seat radius, you will pay good money to have all external sounds blocked so that you can listen to "Holy Diver" and "Straight Outta Compton" in peace and without interruption.

During the evenings this week, I will be enjoying several DVDs that I have been neglecting and quite possibly painting something, even though I have yet to figure out how to light my painting space. But I really, really, really want to create something right now, so I will figure it out. Speaking of which, I got some prints in the mail of an image I shot in Germany and it is fucking phenomenal. Also on my to-do list: upload all of the images from Ireland as well. Someone needs to buy me the Getting Things Done book for my birthday. Fuck.

Speaking of my birthday, my lovarrrr (we're pirates, yarr) and I are having a joint birthday party in NYC because our birthdays are one day apart. Isn't that so cute that it makes you vomit? Of course, I am 7 years older, so at least I am keeping up with the dirty old lady thing despite my rapid descent into mushy coupledom. Thank baby jesus for that. I was beginning to think that my heart was unblackening.
