Into my arms:
I just got back to L.A. yesterday. I totally didn't want to leave NYC, and not just because my horrific alarm went off at 5 a.m. Thursday morning. My NYC apartment is almost totally put together - the living room is complete with teevee, cable, dining table, loveseat (which folds out into a sofabed, since I fully expect the apartment to become a youth hostel on occasion), comfy chair, and color-coordinated cat. The office has a desk and a printer, the bedroom has a bed and some lube, the kitchen has a teakettle and some random Chinese takeout containers, and the bathroom has towels and fancy shampoo. We still need to paint and get a few more odds and ends, like lamps and leg restraints and shit, but for the most part, it's a livable space. Of course, that's mostly due to a handful of NYC's finest delivery men, and of course my fabulous roommate and favorite salad aficionado, who ran around with me like crazy shopping and picking up furniture all week.
In other news, I'm totally aurally obsessed with Nick Cave right now, and my Cronenberg obsession is reaching new and disturbing heights. (To that end, if you can get me a copy of A History of Violence that's playable on my iPod so I can watch it on aeroplanes, I will love you forever.) Also, I got a Canon 5D last week, and it is fucking phenomenal. I plan to shoot everything I see from now on, including humans, so expect me to stick a camera in your face soon.
P.S. I am totally fucking smitten. More on that later.

I've been staying in my new apartment since Saturday. I have a bed and a chair and a teevee. My roommate, the most honorable Princess, has a futon and a cat and a teapot. It's fantastic.
The last few days have been a whirlwind of adventure, excitement, and furniture shopping. Later, I'm going to... do some more furniture shopping, take a little trip to the camera store where I shall drool heavily on many expensive cameras, and also go to Babeland and get some lube. I mean, what?
For the record, I'm not moving 100% to NYC. I'm bicoastal. I'll be wintering and summering in Los Angeles. God damn, that sounds snobby. Anyway, I'm keeping both apartments and will be available for breast cupping on both coasts regularly.
I'm really happy. Deal with it.

Holy fucking shit:
I've been approved for the apartment in NYC! (Not like it was that hard, I just waved a bucket of money at them, but still.) I was planning to be back on the 15th for a planned visit anyway and will be staying over that weekend to go buy furniture and hang out with hot chicks. Move-in date is on the 15th, officially, but I won't be
tricking my friends into helping me bringing things over until the 18th. Of course, because I am a totally anal overplanner, I already have half of my stuff picked out. Bed, big smooshy chair which folds out into a comfy bed for the guests I know we'll have, matching storage ottoman (because I like shit put away, yo), and the paint colors for the bathroom and living room are decided. I'm taking my favorite lady furniture shopping with me on the 19th to finish everything else up. It's been a long time since I decorated almost an entire apartment from scratch. This is fucking exciting.
Holy fucking shit.

No sleep til Brooklyn:
I spent a couple of days in Boston and got to see my favorite pregnant lady and my favorite bald guy, and then took the Acela down (which was awesome) for a very eventful few days in NYC. I ate, drank, and was merry, put a hold on an apartment, officially started a business, bought a phone for my business partner, got tattooed, and hugged some of my faaaaavorite people. I got home Saturday around 4, then went mustache shopping and went to a mustache party. I still have the 'stache, which I'm sure I'll be wearing again soon. It's dead sexy.
On Sunday I assisted Rachel, Michael and Tater with their trailer and took them record shopping, which for some reason thoroughly exhausted all of us (except Tater). My arm is still a tiny bit sore from the newest tattoo, which is funny - the right arm hurt a lot less during the tattoo and was sore for less time. The left one is scabbing up a little bit sooner than the right did, but seems to be scabbing slightly less. Mmm, scabbing. I really don't like getting tattooed or healing tattoos, but it's worth it for the finished result. I feel like I'm walking around with fine art on my arms. Chris is amazing.
I have a lot of stuff to do to prep for an event I will be coordinating later this week and my 4 impending houseguests. Other than stuff related to that, I refuse to do a goddamned thing until Feb. 15. Deal with it.
